The CVLD works in close collaborations with existing groups,especially with the MPI-based groups of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpi-cbg.de\/de\/research\/research-groups\/gene-myers\/group-leader.html\">Gene Myers<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpi-cbg.de\/de\/research\/research-groups\/ivo-sbalzarini\/group-leader.html\">Ivo Sbalzarini<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpi-cbg.de\/research\/research-groups\/pavel-tomancak.html\">Pavel Tomancak<\/a>. Our goal is to transfer and improve latest techniques from computer vision, discrete optimization and machine learning to Bio Imaging \u2013 with a special focus on probabilistic graphical models. The application areas include matching, tracking, segmentation, and deconvolution. This is an exciting and growing research area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Running Projects (in which we are involved in):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/myerslab.mpi-cbg.de\/projects\/spine-development-in-zebrafish\/\">Segmentation and Tracking of Somite Development in Zebrafish <\/a>(David Richmond from Gene Myers Lab drives this project)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/myerslab.mpi-cbg.de\/projects\/bacteria-tracking-in-the-mothermachine\/\">Bacteria Tracking in the Mother machine <\/a>(Florian Jug from Gene Myers Lab drives this project)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/myerslab.mpi-cbg.de\/projects\/automated-segmentation-and-annotation-of-c-elegans-nuclei-in-light-microscopic-images\/\">Annotation of C.
